Authentic experiences in spectacular surroundings in one of Europe’s most unique Aquarius.
Through activities related to nature and life along the Norwegian coast, Atlanterhavsparkens guests can learn about the deep and mystical sealife. The aquarium is integrated into the beautiful nature area just outside Ålesund city center and the nature outside is taken unfiltered directly into the aquarium both in terms of fish and fauna. Something that also appears through the 4-million-liter Atlantic tanker, where the fish are fed daily by divers. This is quite a popular show as the park receives great enthusiams from its audience.
The outdoor area has otters, seals and penguins. The aquarium also has a fantastic outdoor area with water play park and other activities for children. In 2014, they opened Europe's largest outdoor pool for Seals, the species Steinkobbe, with a total of 6000 square meters with its own underwater observatory. This gave a whole new way to show off animals, integrated into the real nature. In the outdoor area there is also a separate penguin park. On Oterøya you get to meet the back kids Nusse, Muffe and Pia.
Atlanterhavsparken is a showcase for life in the sea along the Norwegian coast and has taken aim of being the Norwegian aquarium. In 2103 and 2015, Atlanterhavsparken was named the Nordic Region's Best Aquarium of the website http://www.barnsemester.se
Let yourself be fascinated by the hectic activity of the largest tank when the diver comes to feed the fish by hand with his diving show every day at 13.00 (in the period 01.06-31.08 also at 15.30).
Atlanterhavsparken also has one of Norway's coolest activity room. It also facilitates crab fishing for children in the activity pool several times a day throughout the year, and in the popular contact pool where one really gets close to both sea sausages and sea urchins.
Atlanterhavsparken has its own café, where you can enjoy a tasty meal while enjoying the exciting views. In the souvenir shop you will find small memories you can take home with you, and a trip out into the beautiful outdoor area that surrounds the aquarium makes the visit complete. Here you can enjoy great bathing and fishing spots, hiking trails and diving areas.
